  • Eloquent, sincere and very welcome.

My thanks to Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, and the Leader of the Opposition Malcolm Turnbull.

    The healing can begin now.

Well said however, by way of correction, Brendan Nelson was Leader of the Opposition on this day (13 February 2008).

More importantly, whilst this moment was of infinite importance (you correctly state that it opens a door), I believe its value has since been over-inflated. I think of the Northern Territory Intervention as only one of a multitude of examples. Politicians and public servants need to get out of their offices. I mean really get out. 280-300 days per year.

  • 500,000 that you know of! 10:55 is me! got his attention as the 'intervention from the floor' lol
