'air bearings' are not really a new technology. Hard drives use the same thing between the the disks and they still work on their side.

Wie bitte? Reibung? Ein paar tausendstel Abstand sind ein paar tausendstel. Was ja genau der Clou an "hydrodynamic air-bearing". Ein sehr kleines Luftkissen, sodass keine Reibung da ist aber so klein dass es sich wie eine Flüssigkeit verhält.
