  • these guys are the most incredible song writers in my opinion. Gabriel has the most powerful voice that sends shivers down your spine. Just a magical band. These were the years that they were at there best. Gabriel, Hackett, Collins, Rutherford and Banks. Unbelievable musicians. Im only 17 so, they are way past my time. But my dad was a huge fan when he was my age and he introduced me to these guys and im so glad he did.

  • Oh Boy.....

How I wish I could watch this live!!!!!! How I wish! How I wish!

There's somethin strange about the way they were filmed playing, it's gives you that feeling of being there, and by being there, BEING there.

    If anyone understands....great! Ha!

  • This is one incredible song. Kind of reminds of 'In Held Twas In I'...the concept and all..the beginning, the segmentation ,the ending. Each musician doing something different yet sounding like one. Thanks to You tube these classics will be with us forever

  • WOW...

  • @bonzelite I'm with you there dude, this is on My 'Desert Island Discs@...and I'd be happy for it to be the only track! It has everything, ballad, rock, emotion, passion..

  • perhaps the grandest Genesis song ever, and the highest version of that song here. The Seconds Out double album is a giant masterpiece dominated by Suppers Ready. In my opinion Phil Collins dominates the singing of Gabriel on this song by thousands of miles. The Seconds Out version of Suppers Ready is probably my favorite prog rock song of all time. The climactic moments of the song's end just blow me away with awe.

  • in this interpretation we can see an incredible work of efforts and dedication of genesis, dispense with the greatest RAEL , you can see a great energy and effusiveness, phil collins does a great job replacing peter although he was never going to compare but deserves my most elevated respect.

  • An amazing performance of an amazing piece of art rock. Bruford and Collins drumming together; magic. As much as love Gabriel's voice, Collins really sends shivers down my spine in this version from Seconds Out. Incredible stuff.

  • @alextubealex Mellotrons can only be loaded with 3 voices per tape cartridge. One voice was the "3 violins" which is heard in the 666 part. Banks also uses the 8 voice choir sound on many songs, so there is voice 2. He uses a 3rd voice which I'm not sure its name, but its not a flute. So there is the reason for not using the Mellotron.

  • @Spenc2010 Genesis is a keyboard centric band because Banks writes most of the music. He has from the start.

  • Has anyone heard about "Seconds Out" being released on DVD?

    I've heard rumblings. . .

If so, my life would be complete.
