  • the finished product at the end of the video is absolutely horrible. orange peel finish. Also you never answered the question from riverafamily7, can these be used with adequate results when there is lippage present?

all the "training" videos I have seen from all of these different pads have test floors what were ground in place to be perfectly flat, not something youre likely to come across.

  • @CameronDeMille

Cameron, not all of the video's showing a pad system is done on a ground (honed) surface. The floor in the video is a show room for one of our customers in Denver, and has never had anything done to it from the time it had been installed, to the time we did our demo video.

We fail to see the orange peel effect in the video, or even on the floor. The floor looks just as good today, as it did the day we polished it, and the customer is extremely happy with the results.

  • Great Info. I am assuming these could not be used if there is any kind of lippage at all?

  • @riverafamily7

These pads can be used with a slight amount of lippage. The problem with using a pad system on a floor with lippage is you will end up with some window pane-ning that will polish the higher edge of a tile and leave an adjoining tile at a different level of gloss.

The number 1 pad (coarse, about 500 grit) will reduce a little bit of lippage on some stones if it is very slight, but if you have any concern you should do a test area to make sure the results will be satisfactory.
