Desk O7 at the library at the British Museum was where Karl Marx is said to have penned Das Kapital, one of his more famous works. My brother was visiting from Toronto so he and I teamed up to bring you this video which ends with the words from another work by Marx, the Communist Manifesto. The library itself is an inspiring building itself to take in let alone to study in.

  • Wow I didn't know that this building was so big lol where is located and you have more information on this

  • It's the Reading Room of the British Museum in London, UK. Marx apparently used to drink quite often at the pub across the street from it.

    Then he moved to Hampstead before his death, a fairly bourgeois place to be...

  • wow! to many anti-Marxists here. They live in ignorance and don't know what they're talking about. Let these anti-Marxists tremble at a Communist revolution! {Marx was one of the greatest people around}

  • why would you write such an unintelligent comment about someones video? tosser.

  • By sharing this Video, even though in an unrelated argument, my friend Kwame has done more good to British Tourism industry than they could ever pay him. My next Vacation is to London and I want to see the Museum! I may end up reading that book I am sure I have in my library somewhere, Das Kapital.

    Sure we have it easy these days not having to travel to the library everyday!

  • Thank for your answer. At least some who post messages have a concept that individuals, as a whole, strive for personal freedom. Besides freedom, prices can not be set thru socialism. What this means is that a Socialist/Marxist state will ultimately fail economically also. This is because unproductive enterprises are propped up. USSR collapsed. For that matter, all Socialist states fail. In US, ethanol mandates. Also, look to Calif, NY, Mich, etc. Sorry for strong words, only for effect.

  • also I meant collective* before hand.

  • Thus with a desire for perfection, comes a desire for empowerment. In this way I supported communism last year more because of the propagandized empowerment that surrounds its elite and organization.

  • Its not always necessarily intelligence that is the problem (at least not logical and problem solving intelligence), it is more directly linked with personality and a desire for perfection, which of course is more forced then flow like behavior.

  • Yep I know, I was a communist idealist last year, now I know that democracy works better sociologically due to a more natural distribution of power that comes with opportunity. Humanity and the ideas humanity creates are naturally connected, an thus enact the behavior and desires of the individual and the collect.

    Authority is a natural want of any developed individual, thus governmental communism fails in its strive for equality.

  • Newworld,444, this entry shows how truely stupid some are. Let me think, hm hm. North-South Korea. East-West Germany. Countries with same langauges, backgrounds, resources. Let's test your intellegence. Which countries have personal freedoms and strong economies? Which countries kill people trying to escape? Which countries have to have walls to prevent being over run? Time is up, idiot. People like you have a thinking (frozen) disease and vote for Marxist like Obama. See you down the road, DA

  • Cool. Did you have any trouble getting in as a tourist? Years ago, I tried and they wouldn't let me past the doorway to the reading room.

  • cool when I ever visit london again, then I go to these historical place!!!

  • Its not the communist ideal that is bad it is people who are bad...

    Just like with any other ideal...
