I'll answer questions on the video here:
cloning is done with a green screen and an effect in Pinnacle called chroma key. it only allows one layer, so I export two layers compressed to a video, then import it again to add the third layer.

I started playing drums in 4th grade, then bass and guitar in 6th grade. I'm now 21.

Hi, I'm Dave VerLee. I made another clone video. Enjoy.

If you like this, then you probably like music. You should listen to some of my band's stuff at http://www.myspace.com/corporealmusic
or buy our CD at http://www.cdbaby.com/corporeal

Gear used: Pearl Session custom drums, roland td-6 drum module, paiste zildjian and wuhan cymbals, warwick fna jazzman bass, parker nitefly-SA guitar, HP tx2500 tablet laptop.

video and green screen effects rendered in Pinnacle. Audio mixed in Sonar. guitar and bass effects by Guitar Rig 3.

  • Drums are recorded amazingly for only having two overheads, and the snare and bass. What mics are you using?

  • @jochristy96 mxl 993s, shure pg 52, and some unknown dynamic mic. They're really cheap mics. to get good sound out of them I have to use a lot of EQing. I never end up using the snare mic in the final mix.

  • Great skills at drum and bass. I'm less impressed by the guitar and moreover I don't like most of the amps and settings your using; too agressive, not smooth.

Anyway great one man jam. Keep up dude.

  • @Dopamint I would have to agree. if I made another video, I'd take the time to polish everything. I put no care into the guitar track since it was last. I was tired of the project and just wanted it done quick.

  • I am in love with your snare. Its so tight sounding. The pop is fantastic. What kind? and how much? Also great playing!

  • @MrCReagan it's an old 1970s ludwig acrolite. it was my first snare, and is still my main snare. thanks!

  • You are Amazing!!! You really need some recognition, i mean there's so much talentless crap out there nowadays, and you blow it all to bits, you deserve to be rich and famous unlike nost of the crap out there, you are a true hero

  • @NaeJoy I took your critique and I put a lot of work into improving my double bass technique. It's a lot better, but I won't have a video up to prove it for quite some time. I've been learning double stroke rolls and the use of accents with my feet. it's really fun! Next, I'm gonna try and get flams going.
