USS Nimitz CVN68, Deployment, San Diego, 07/2009

The USS NIMITZ CVN68 SAILS out of San Diego bay July 09 toward the western Pacific. This was truly a magnificent sight to watch. Even more incredible than other deployment films, as the Air Wing equipment was alongside the manning of the rails for this one.

All the best to you guys serving aboard her, and also to the families and loved ones waiting for your return here at home.

UPDATE Christmas 2010:
The Supercarrier USS Nimitz will be leaving San Diego for Bremerton Washington early December 2010. I will be posting a film of the departure. This departure from San Diego may be permanent. CVN 68 will be in maintenance for the next year. The Navy has not yet made any decision as to where she will be ported after that.
