The Grand Ashworth Fortune: To Retrieve Ancient Power (Drama CD Version)

The following programme is an unofficial drama CD version of a segment from Elson "Darkspeeds" Wong's webcomic "The Grand Ashworth Fortune" (or "Grand Hunter") that I created two years ago.

Back then, I was one of the many fans of the short-lived but highly detailed webcomic and I felt like creating my own drama CD adaptation of one of its chapters (i.e. To Retrieve Ancient Power)

When assuming the roles of both characters (i.e. Duke nd Salah), I wanted to use artificial foreign accents in an attempt to disguise my voice and distinguish both characters. For example, I used a French/Spanish accent for Duke and an Irish accent for Salah.

I used Audacity to easily edit and modify multiple sound tracks before saving the entire project as a single sound track. I also created my own sound effects using my own shoes and scrap pieces of paper. Finally, I used and edited music from numerous games (e.g. Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry, etc.) to easily portray the drama, emotion and atmosphere.

After I finished creating my drama CD version, I sent it to Darkspeeds himself via e-mail and he was blown away. He especially liked how I used foreign accents for both characters and said that he was planning to use foreign accents for them as well. He also liked how I used music for further emphasis and exaggeration.

After sending the original file to Darkspeeds on the year 2008, he implied uploading it on his own website...But he forgot. He must have been busy with his own personal affairs as well as his webcomic.

Now, I finally decide to upload my drama CD adaptation myself since it was left undiscovered by me and Darkspeeds for two years. I hope you enjoy it as much as Darkspeeds did!
