Allan McNish in the #3 Audi R18 TDI was involved in a horrific accident in the 2011 Le Mans 24 hour race. McNish made contact with the #58 Ferrari and crashed heavily into the barriers just after the Dunlop bridge. Thankfully he was able to walk away with no major injury.

To be fair, the Ferrari didn't wreck the Audi... Mcnish just made a bonehead move. Just like the other Audi driver on the straight at night.

Exactly. He was too aggressive. It seems he wanted to pass both the other Audi and the 458 on the same corner. Ballsy but stupid that early on at Le Mans.

Blame aside, these guys are racing drivers and this is what they do...calling McNish this and calling him that is pathetic from folk that are armchair critics. It happened to Clark, Villineuve, Senna and many more and they didn't walk away. It's a miracle no one was killed and a testament to the incredible strength of the modern racing car.
