Oh I'm sorry, when I said "Marxist understanding" I meant the science of dialectic materialism- which holds that matter is the only objective thing in the universe upon which all ideas are constructed. I did not signify any certain ideologies such as Socialism or Communism.

Ideology is the action of applying abstract reasoning upon REAL material actions and conditions.

Marxism isn't an ideology. It really boils down to Marx's theory on ideology (dialectics) and his economic principles.

But a Marxist understanding in and of itself is applying and ideological lens to ideology and by definition does not constitute a factual observation. The facts are that ideology is nothing more than the justification of state actions. Occam's razor needs to be applied or else all objective analysis is fruitless. Marxism is just as slanted and hypocritical as every other ideology. Disregarding ideals is the bases for being able to make realistic rational explanations that history requires.

According to Marxist understand, ideologies are adopted relative to conditions. The purpose of a state is to bring into realization the productive capabilities of such ideologies or social thesis. Ideology is, itself, the study of ideas. Ideas are created upon reflecting upon prevailing conditions and their inherent contradictions. You are right to the extent that ideologies are inherently flawed, for they do not take into account the omnipotence of nature (rather specific phases of nature).

There are no benevolent regimes or ideologies at any point in history, All peoples and states act according to interests, ideology is the lens with which we attempt to justify how we satisfy our interests. Glory is a myth. Under Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Smith, Mussolini, Burke, Washington, the list is never ending. There is no glory in any ideology for all end with dominance of one group over another.

Every single historian of the soviet union knows for a fact that although the creative mandate for the USSR was free speech, the reality was substantially different. The only period of free speech in the Soviet Union was under Gorbachev with his implementation of Glasnost in 1980s. Up until that point there was no free speech at all. Democracy was also an illusion. Until the death of Chernenko in 1985, the whole country was run by a Gerontocracy which was unelected. These are absolute facts.
