Watch an entire broadcast of Nine News Sydney from 4 different angles. We've set up 2 cameras in the control room, another in the studio and you'll also be able to see the final output.

This is as close as you can get to actually being in the control room!

  • Is the first countdown from master control?

  • @deansproductions The countdown is from Presentation

  • I just watched this in 1080p and didn't realise until now that Peter Overton's voiceover of the opening headlines is pre-recorded!

The other thing I never knew was that the whole thing was on 20-second delay. That must be a fairly recent innovation. I doubt most other newsrooms do this?

  • @whophd the news is not on a 20 sec delay, it is absolutely LIVE. The news actually starts 20 seconds before 6.00pm.

  • This is SO COOL!

  • @bumboozer It's a manual control for doing a fade/dissolve/mix (whatever the TV people call it in your part of the world) between shots. There'll be a button to do it also but some people like to do it manually to control the speed.

  • I wish my local affiliates would do this online during a live newscast!

  • In scotland, our Local station STV, their master control room is about the size of that control room...

  • I have done prompter work and such, but the split focus required to make sense of this must truly be a learned art. Youtube taught me something today!

  • Would love to see another one of these videos done guys!

Please suggest it to whoever decides the behind the scenes content!

  • Any chance we could get more of these. But maybe with the camera held by someone while they are on the floor watching the camera men. And is there a way for someone to come into the studio to see how things are done? Someone who is studying to become a cameraman?

  • What is the thing that looks like a plane throttle?

  • The reporter at 6:10 seemed rly nervous

  • i enjoy the australian news, things are very different in scotland,

if you wanna see the scottish news then watch this video /watch?v=QEkHDPCf854&feature=sh_e_top&list=SL
