Liberal scholar and skeptic, Tim Callahan, is given a chance to defend the claim that "pagan god resurrections" pre-dated Christ's resurrection but fails to make a case under the heat of questioning. In fact, he gets totally defeated by Dr. Gary Habermas.

Inanna was pre-Christian. Dionysus was pre-Christian. Osiris and Horus were pre-Christian. Attis was pre-Christian. Tammuz was pre-Christian.

  • @danieljliversLXXXIX Er, no one is denying that. What is under discussion here are the parallels (of which the pagans borrowed from the Christians).

  • I do believe the bible is correct, inspired despite this guys opinion.

  • @JesusRoseB4Pagangods

What was under discussion was whether there were gods who died and resurrected before the time of Christ. Inanna, Osiris and others each died, each of their bodies were resurrected and each of them were before Christ. It's one thing to say Christianity didn't borrow from pagan gods, but it another for some apologists to try to claim no other god rose before Christ. That's not a real argument. That's just a lie.

  • @danieljliversLXXXIX You just proved my point, Although this refutes one of my others. So Osiris died correct? and if he is spirit and soul then RA the god died in whole, Never was ra incarnate in flesh.

Remember you got your theology confused.

    God became flesh.

Osiris did not go from god to flesh

    Jesus flesh was dead

Osiris died as a whole (Spirit and soul) into non existence

Again we are arguing dying and rising gods so i ask again, give me scripture where God died!

  • @danieljliversLXXXIX How is it presumption? I gave scripture that Christ was not dead spiritually because he said he would be in paradise,

Please show me how the soul can die because the incarnate flesh was destroyed? This makes no sense what so ever! This is contradictory to Christian theology because we face judgement when we die. So you are denying a very big chunk of Christian theology to say his spirit was dead because of a physical death.

    Please don't make me laugh!

  • @Onetruthrgv Your counterargument is one big presumption. How do you know the scribes were refering to a part man, part god being? What exactly does it mean to be a man? Since he rasied with the same body he died with (according to John, I think), I don't see how you're thinking this means his spirit was the only thing that resurrected, and that this is why all the other gods who did resurrect is un-compariable. I should be asking you where it states that it was just his spirit that rose.

  • @Onetruthrgv Of course they had souls. They were the Ba (spirit) and Ka (soul). Two of the seven princable's that animated both humans and gods alike. And regardless what does this have to do with anything? Trying to find any bs excuse you can to brush it aside?

Also, Re comes from Re. Ka would refer to his soul. Since these gods never existed I don't see why you're playing semantics. You have a very poor understanding of mythology and ancient religions.

  • @danieljliversLXXXIX 3.) I will tell you exactly how I know they died spiritually and physically. Did Egyptian God's have a soul? When they went to hades did there soul go to hades or themselves as one being? Never did the text ever once refer to his spirit or soul but rather the god as a whole.

4.) Actually this not a assumption on god's definition. If A god is not all powerful why is he god? Lets take RA for example, his name comes from Ka-Ra which means the all powerful Ra.

  • @danieljliversLXXXIX 1.)You seem like you are having a hard time grasping this concept.

The argument is dying and rising god's.

Did God die? NO! Did the man Jesus Die Yes! So again I am waiting for you to show me where did God die and rise in the NT.

2.) Yes his incarnate body rose! It was to fulfill the prophecy in psalms. Now Again We are talking about a God who died and was risen, Please Give me scripture where GOD Died!
