The sign that warns you about waking bats has nothing to do with random battles - if you hold X to run, there's a chance a bat will appear and start to circle around Rudy's head. This is an indication that Rudy is now Cursed - you can use the Holy Symbol item you pick up later to cure it. Just a heads-up for next time!

Well wild could mean abnormal. Arms are refered to as weapons. I think the title is being sarcastic. The characters have normal arms...well except for the meowing goblin. I'm talking about the entire series, though.
