i got lice in my dreads a few years back. it was pretty bad and i did try lots of ways to get rid of them and they still managed to live through several lice shampoos. but it was really strange because i was pregnant at the time, i gave birth 8 weeks early but for some really weird reason they just dissapeard when i was in hospital. i had tryed for so long n nothing then a week in hospital and they just died.. i really have no idea how it happended..

can you put the teatree on now and then just as a precausion? I live in Hawaii and kids are always getting them, I used to have my grandkids living with me but not anymore.

use rubbing alcohol, it wont bleach your hair. then put a bag over your hair so they die, do this for about 4 days and you should be cured

@princenoobsauce The Mayo suffocates them and the Apple Cider Vinegar breaks down the membrane holding the unhatched lice. And another cool part of the mayo treatment, all the fat in the mayo (egg whites) is GREAT for your hair. I always heard my mother saying for rich looking hair do that. I did it and it looked soooo nice! It was like I had conditioned it a billion times, but without the negative fallout that you get with using greasy conditioners. Anyone please let me know how it worked
Dreads CAN get lice. You can get rid of lice. Lice are attracted to clean hair because without your natural oil they can 'glue' themselves on to your hair stronger while nesting. Clean hair makes it easier for lice to breed. I have had lice with my dreadlocks. I did NOT shave them. Place mayonnaise on your hair and cover it think. Place a shower cap over it to not make a mess. Wait 4 hours. Wash out. Rinse hair with Apple Cider Vinegar to kill unhatched eggs.

@TeaMaster1978 yep its a natural bug repellent too! I dont recommend doing this unless you have a visible chance of infection. Ill do the regular wash vid that will repel, and not be so evil strong as soon as i get around to it. The winter months keep them less active anyway.
