MAINSTREAM KILLED THE INDIE STAR: NEW YORK is a short documentary that spotlights the unheard musicians, the indie stars of New York City's local scene. This film celebrates what's going on in the independent rock community by highlighting a handful of bands based in & around New York. This film was shot on location in New York City @ The Knitting Factory in two days at GNYC-TV's "MEANYFest" and JOA Productions' "Stairway to the Dream" in late December 2007. The bands showcased in this film were: Sonny Marvello, Ten Year Vamp, The Ladrones, Future in Plastics, Jotka Band, Noirceur, The Sleeping Revolt, Uncle Pumpkin, & Uzuhi.
