  • I have to agree with tigerbat.

  • There's already too much sax and violins in the world.

  • I know I posted this, but really, I want to see a real trumpet, with sweat pouring off the guy's brow, and saliva dripping off the end of the bell.

  • It's designed to be a MIDI tool for trumpet players- if you watch the instructional video on it, you'll see that james morrison specifically says that trumpet is prettymuch the only thing that he doesn't want to sound like on it. He likes it because you can be more expressive than you would be able to with a synthesizer and it comes to him (and other trumpeters) much more naturally than a keyboard would. I think it's a pretty neat toy! obviously it isn't intended to replace trumpet altogether

  • thats kinda cool :).Maybe I should try that on my real trumpet that takes alot of real time to master something thats like that but real.

  • It seems beginners should be able to plug in some ear plugs so no one else will be able to hear them practice which is good if you live in a crowd house or aparment or want to practice in public with out getting complaints

  • how does it tell what the player's embouchure is? Also, how do the players differentiate separate tones? If the player's embouchure is a little off, will the tone be off, too?

  • im another trumpet player weighing in on this. In my opinion this would be really fun to play. I think itd be really cool to experiment with these different sounds and manipulate the tone, but i still love the tone of a real brass trumpet

  • Were these around when MF was? If so I'm surprised he didn't banish them from existence with his mouthpiece. I might sound like a hater, but Trumpets are meant to be the awesomest brass instrument not some computerized block. MF did things old school i.e. the right way so follow his lead and play with metal on your face. Sorry if I offend anyone who thinks playing on a machine is awesome.

  • i think the percussion got to loud

  • in the end its importanz WHAT you play.I like it.Thanx

  • Wow where can you get one of these and for how much?

  • @alipalocilesta Okay, I'm a trumpet player, and I would sugest two things.

    1) if you can't make the buzzing noise happen because of a medical reason (chaps) the DT might work, if you play it more as a synth than a trumpet. Morrison makes it very clear that this is for trumpet players to sound like something else.

    2) If you can't make the buzzing noise but not of a medical reason, keep working on it, maybe get tutors to help you.

To answer the question, you blow into the trumpet, but not buzz.
