Day Paddle with the Wilderness Systems Zephyr 15.5 kayak at the Matapeake Park on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.

As for the paddle, it was originally a Lumpy wooden paddle (http://www.lumpypaddles.com) that I cracked on a submerged rock. So I covered it with a carbon-Kevlar sleeve vacuumbagged with epoxy. Now it is "bomb-proof" but a little on the heavy side and very little flex left. Here is a link to how I did the sleeving http://www.pbase.com/kocho/paddle_sleeve . And here is a link on how I did a wood/foam core sleeved paddle: http://www.pbase.com/kocho/paddlefoam
