Famous Adagio - first movement from Elgar's cello concerto. Recorded 19 th August 1965.

Jackie with sir John Barbirolli.

If you want to hear version from 1970 with Daniel Barenboim, let me know. (But I'm aware that it is available here in the documentary about Jackie).

  • should be played in schools about the horrors of war,,,which was its intention to portray

  • This always sends me into her story. It's like two souls, here's and Elgar merge to tell Her story. It is sadder than Grieg stuff.

  • as captivating as jesus on the mount pronouncing the beatitudes

  • Oh, man... when this piece hits the 2:40 mark, it's like nothing else around me exists.

  • Esta es una de las grabaciones culminantes del siglo XX.

  • This brings tears to my eyes! BRAVO!!

  • Hermoso, va más aya de un tema de la afinación o ritmo, es la interpretación que hace vibrar el alma... lejos la mejor Violoncellista !!!!

  • Could you please send me links to the other parts of Elgar's Cello Concerto (Barbirolli 1965)? Thank you very much, grand music!
