REPLY I live in the south. A local fundie chruch advertized that they were showing proof that evolution was false. I could not resist. I want to see.
It was the biggest collection of uneducated dumbasses I have ever seen in one place. I didn't challenget these poor people for it was easy to see they had been brainwashed from childhood by even other dumbasses.
REPLY: these people at this church had been brainwashed from little children to believe every word of the bible was true (talking snakes -talking asses - samson). To for religious reasons they can't allow themselves to see the truth for it will mean the magic book has errors.
So they - like many on here - make up bullcrap and use smoke and mirrors to cover the lack of proof they have.
REPLY: when it comes to evolutionary science the evangelical are far from main stream. What they spout as truth is not taught in any major school in the world. Many christian faiths state even in public documents that evolution does not dispute the bible.
It is the weak of faith that dispute evolution.

Aside from the obvious consequences of living in a society with laws, there's the consequence inherent in being empathic social animals (we feel guilty). Humans have evolved to live with and help each other for mutual survival benefit. There's a word for people who lack the empathy necessary for this (they're called psychopaths), and there's a reason why we evolved to detest/ostracize/kill such people.
To believe that our moral values came from some magic friend in the sky writting on stone tablets is crazy. Do they think there was no moral code before that. LOL The writters of the bible just took an already existing moral code and claimed god invented it. Oh yeah they added a few to protect their god too.
People that are not christians or have faith have a moral code. This is just smoke and mirrors to fool people.
