UNV: Raising awareness about refugees' plight (Lebanon)

On the occasion of the IVD 2010, UNV Lebanon and the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC) joined forces to highlight and increase the breadth and depth of volunteerism schemes and opportunities in general and to enhance the understanding of refugee rights among youth in particular. In this video, youth volunteers are engaged in a role play "On The Run" where they experience how hard it is to be in a refugee. The objectives of the game are to increase tolerance and reduce stigma & discrimination towards refugees as well as to enhance the young people's understanding, through active participation, of international norms and conventions regarding refugee rights on the international and national level.
