is this really Sir j B? It sounds like a parody of his voice.

@brychar66 Nothing wrong with the Nottingham castle when I been there! Except the fact its empty! My parents live there so whenever I'm around I like going there coz f the dart board. The swan is a millon times better, especially when the football is on.

I grew up there too and was a choirboy in that church. Lived just up the road from it, in fact. Not going to say any more or I'll get identified! But the Nottingham Castle was my "local" for a while in the 70s, until we moved on (or were moved, perhaps) to The Bridge.
Good reading - captures the feeling of the man himself. Not his greatest poem but lovely to hear all the same.

@oldgit32 Thank you, I'm surprised and delighted that anyone still listens to this awful old reading! I live in Westgate and The Bridge is now desirable habitations not a pub any more. There's a local removal firm going by the name of The Old Gits ('London-Paris-New York- sometimes Hull') I don't suppose you're one of them!

A lovely place as long you avoided the Nottingham Castle

@crompton33001 Haha, yes, a rather rough part of Westgate!

It's changing a bit now - lots of new building, thankfully mostly in a low key.
