Home assembled AR-15 from mail order sources...

DPMS lower
CMMG 14.5" Government profile upper, mid-length gas system, micro block
pinned/welded Yankee Hill Phantom Flash Hider
Timney Target Trigger
Magpul UBR Buttstock
Magpul MOE Handgrip
Magpul MOE Triggerguard
Troy Industries 13.8" MRF RX Tactical Rail
Eotech A65.1 Holographic Sight
DPMS Front and Rear (co-witness) Rail Sights
Magpul AFG2 Angled Fore Grip
Magpul XT Rail Covers
Inexpensive no-name flashlight mount
Fenix LD25 1 inch flashlight
Magpul Windowed AR-15 30 round magazines
Magpul Single Point Sling (not shown)

I installed/assembled everything. The Troy Rail was a bit of an adventure. I had to cut off the ring and omega spring assembly with a dremel tool due to the welded on flash hider. That wasn't too bad, kind of bead blasted part of the upper finish inadvertently with the powderized aluminum spray - scratched the receiver also when the dremel slipped as well... but it was the front handguard retainer that was the unexpected pain in the ass, it was practically welded on, it would not BUDGE ... ended up cutting it off with the dremel also!

Heavy gun @ 9.5 pounds as you see it in this vid, but exactly what I set out to build - a short, accurate tactical carbine for use in real world WROL defense, like after a natural disaster - not a lightweight fantasy end of the world wander the wasteland post-apocalypse gun. I have a lighter AR-15 as well, in case I do have to wander the post-apocalyptic wasteland! LOL :) I'll do a vid review of it later, doing some upgrades to it right now - its in pieces!

  • nice AR man. Is that the 13 or 13.8 Troy rails? I'm thinking of getting either one of those and I do like your setup so I was just wondering?

  • @BBprs250 - its the 13.8 Troy

  • What could someone expect to pay total for a piece the same as this.

  • @Brucesotoo - all the whiz-bangs will add $1000 to the price of a starter AR-15. If you build if from scratch and don't waste money paying for stuff you pull off and throw in a drawer you might save a bit from that.

  • Very nice build buddy. I'm really liking the UBR stock and the longer guard rails.

  • @ThatDudeSirraj - if you don't mind the extra weight they are very nice. I'm putting together a light Magpul MOE right now for when my girly little xbox gamer arms get all tired and weak from picking my nose or something.

  • @jeffersontool - nah, the news just raises my blood pressure. I don't mind watching BBC America news though, those darn brits and their accents, even horrible news makes me chuckle coming from them...

  • @jeffersontool - I can't stand to hear that stuff. I don't claim either party. I work in government and find them equally despicable. My own personal preference based on experience is for the gridlock that comes with neither party in power over the other!! More laws is not better government... gridlock grinds the insane law factory to a halt... we keep it gridlocked long enough and the freakin lawyers would all starve to death. YAY!!

  • @AutumnWoodsBMX Which sight are you saying is backward? From the video one can see that both the front and rear sights are correctly mounted, as is the EOTech. Frenzied did a good job and got it right.

  • Hey Frenzied you should look into the Magpul flip up sights. They are pretty good and would look great on there and there are very inexpensive. Just in case you havent already thought of them, or you can just get the front sight if you dont want to change the rear sight.

  • The sight is backward

  • Great AR how much did you pay for that if you don't mind me asking?

  • hey,i love the rifle,it looks great with the rail system all the way to the end,u dont see alot of people do that

  • nice and solid, way to go.

  • im 13 so il keep it safe il just buy a bb gun of this model at my local gunstore but th crappy thing is i think its even more expensive then a real one lololol

  • I love that rail on there, the 13.8" length of it is perfect for the complete barrel length with the attached flash hider. The only thing different I would've done is attached either the Spikes Dynacomp or the Troy Industries Claymore muzzle brake instead of the flash hider you have.
