Sorry if it has been a bit quiet around here... lots going on.... anyway, hope you like this. It's Tune of the month over at Sax on the Web. I used to love this song as a kid, the Nat King Cole version. Recorded using a Selmer reference 36 with an link hard rubber 7 mouthpiece. mic is a rode nt2a.

  • Tasteful. I'm sure Lester would be nodding along with a smile. So many players go for pyrotechnics and don't appreciate the nuances of melody. Glad to hear you again. BT

  • @TwainsBlues, cheers TB, nice to hear from you again

  • Backing track aebersold?

  • @magichristo yes it is from vol 110, "when I fall in love" a nice collection of stuff

  • Wow!! Slow songs are your speciality, Matthew. Again, the tone is excellent. I love your runs and dynamics and your use of ghost notes - I will never learn that, I'm afraid.

    Take care,

    Uli

  • @ulrichhoebler, cheers Ulli, always means a lot from you. Ghost notes= me finding the wrong note and smudging it up or down, it is a skill, I suppose :-)

  • yeah, there's also a reason you sound that way... we can see on your face that you have this melody in your mind. You are expressing the notes, interpreting them even with your face muscles. simply nice man (Matthew ?)

what do you think about Yanagisawa Tenors?

  • sweet

  • You're great. Simple as that.

  • Matthew, your tone is sweet, and it's nice to hear you play. I wonder, have you considered PG Music's Band In A Box? Type in a chord progression, and generate up to five part backing tracks. With the new Real Tracks, you'll hear real audio, not MIDI backing. Plus, it's never the same backing tracks, twice in a row.

  • Wonderful feel to it :) Lovely sound the NT2A gives us :)

  • Dear CDD, just ignore the critics on any of your pieces, your instincts, and nearly all the performances, are all in the right direction,

  • You did a fantastic job on this, i was really looking for a sample of audio on the rode NT2-a mic and i found myself a reason to get the mic, keep it up

  • well I could have just sat and listened to that all day, great video. Thanks

  • Nice elavator music lol but its calming

  • Beautiful......Just sitting here with a Vodka and Orange.........Mellow! Yeah!!
