Hey all you RAD retro gamers! Episode 3.5 returns to the Wii Virtual Console A-Plenty format to take a look at a few HUGE retro titles that are seeing life on the Wii VC. As a bonus, we'll also take a look at the new (free) Wii Chanal.

REVIEWED:
-Streets of Rage (Wii VC)
-Kid Icarus (Wii VC)
-RType III (Wii VC)

Also, a few notes about the vid:

-The boss in Round 1 of Streets of Rage is holding a boomerang. The inside joke is that an old issue of Sega Visions referred to this boss as a "knife wielding physcho," and dispite corrections from readers, they would only say that it was "debatable" what weapon he was holding. Ha.

-That's not me playing Kid Icarus, it's actually a kid on my floor.

Enjoy! Remember, RETRO RULES!

    Solid reviews.

I always got slowdown on my NES Kid Icarus so its not too bad.

You can barely be heard on the Everyone votes review but counting its free, its worth the download IMO.

The point got knocked off because they took out all the famous cheat codes. The slowdown is also a lot worse than I remember, but yes, it always was plagued by slowdown.

Great reviews. Too bad it was really hard to hear you during the Everyone Votes! Channel segment.

  • I am a young ghost of a dead boy. I saw a floating dress the other day. And it killed me. If you dont send this message to 20 other people, I will kill you AT 12:00 TONIGHT

  • Yeah I'll stick to the cart for Kid Icarus. R-type 3 is an awesome game. I haven't played that in probably 15 years.

  • I noticed the former cops from Streets of Rage are in their very early 20's. To be an ex-cop at 22 years old, you would have to finish high school at 15, graduate from college at age 19, get hired as a cop immediately after and work 2 or 3 years before leaving. Streets of Rage is completely unrealistic in expecting us to believe it is typical to be an ex-cop at such a young age. Maybe life in general was just easier in 1991.

  • icarus fights

    medusa angels

know it live it be it

  • the virtual console uses emulators

  • I disagree with the Kid icarus score, but I don't really miss the password, and the lag was there in the original. I'd give it a 9 TBH

  • lawl make believe its fun

  • Gotta critisize your score on Kid Icarus. Based on how you give out scores, its definitely not 7.5 because that is NOT a game for modern gamers whatsoever and even a retro-gamer like me, I never got into it, its a certain charm to it and a certain kind of game for certain retrogamers. If you gave Contra 3 a 7, which is a game highly easier for both retrogamers and modern to get into, Kid Icarus shouldn't get a 7.5.
