Hooking Up A Timing Light for Static Timing

You show how you are putting power INTO the coil on the strator, but you do not show where the light bulb is getting its connectivity from.
I assume you connected it to another lead from the points and it's grounded on the same path as the scooter/battery.

you can make a simular device with an amp meter and two wires. its very reliable and cheap to make, i made mine in a plastic tupperware box ! !
