From the parking lot at the northwest end of the Kuhio Highway, we hiked 2.4 miles along the Na Pali coast to Hanakapi'ai Beach. From there, we hiked 2.2 miles upstream to Hanakapi'ai Falls. It was some of the most amazing scenery we've ever seen and definitely worth the time to visit. It was somewhat strenuous and technical especially from the beach to the falls where several stream crossings and some rock climbing was required. Be sure to pack lots of water or purification tablets as there's plenty of fresh water along the way. This video should give you a pretty good idea of what to expect on the trail.
