This is a Coach purse inspired cake. The client didn't want to spend a ton of money for a sculpted cake so I suggested this. The cake is modeled off of the purse he got his wife for Valentines day. Enjoy :)

  • Hi , Love your coach bag especially the leather effect trimmings. I am desperate to make a leather effect bag. Could you please tell me how you did the leather effect? Is it an embossing folder? If so please could you let me have the brand name etc. Thank you so much.

  • @inkingindian If you watch the video again it explains how I made the leather. :) The leather texture sheet I used to make the imprint was made by Autumn Carpenter and it was from the Fabric pack.

  • where did you get the coach stencil

  • @tangela0826 on the Cake Central site

  • i love this cake! i would like to do a purse cake but I am torn how how to do the buckle. please help

  • @geminiburglar You can use any type of fondant. Roll the fondant out like a long snake, the kind you may have made with playdo when you were little. Shape the snake into she shape of a buckle you like and discard extra. I shaped my buckle to look like the buckle in the picture that the guy gave me. once dry, paint the buckle the color you want :) hope that helps!

  • Thanks for your response - will certainly try the leather effect. Thanks again.

  • Thank you

  • nice cake omg did anyone pay attention she explains it all

  • You can use a cirle within a circle (if that makes any sense) to do the buckle and shape it the way you want to let dry before painting, the latch you can make using the letter "I".
