@TherealRNO My word exactly. Elmo may be a pain in the neck at times, and political correctness never WAS anyone's friend to begin with, but their goals never changed: to entertain/educate the children. They're just working with a completely different world than what Jim Henson and Jon Stone worked with. Sure if they were still alive they'd do things a bit differently, but what can we do? I myself can just grin and bear it.

@fjccommish If you look past things that don't involve Elmo (which isn't much, but it's there), you'll see they still do plenty of good material. I refer you to two new bits, "I Love My Hair" and "I Wonder". They feel like they were ripped from a classic SS episode.

@fjccommish: Yet, it still teaches, albeit in a different way. Why, even the past episodes with more direct learning used cultural referrences for the adults watching the show who either watched it with their kids or who were themselves young-at-heart enough to never relinquish their inner child. It's like those who complain that the magic is lost when a behind-the-scenes aspect is shown, when in truth, the magic is in the message & relatable characters, not neccessarily the shows by themselves.

@TherealRNO That's the point. The standards changed for the worse, to censor decent programming. Sesame Street used to teach. Now it panders.
