Hooray, it didn't take me a month to make a new song this time!

Here's another remake of an old Mario Paint song of mine. This time, I re-did the Obstacle Course or Athletic theme from Yoshi's Island.

I didn't re-do it because I thought my last one was terrible or anything, but because I liked the song so much that I wanted to do it again, this time with the original soundfont. Not to mention I noticed a few things that I DID mess up that I wanted to fix.

Besides the soundfont swap, some changes include:

- Different time signature (in MPC 3/4 now)
- Grace notes
- Better sustain (with Low-A glitch notes and echoes)
- Some instrument changes to better suit the soundfont (MEOW)
- I actually did the whole song

Looking at it this way, it doesn't seem like much changed. Oh well.

I can no longer record my own songs.

I ask others to do it for me, and the one who recorded for me this time forgot to raise his recording volume, or some problem like that.

Aside from the gameboys, and the obnoxious cats (seriously, it sounds nothing like ingame; I know you like to add stuff like that, but in my opinion you are better off leaving that out) it's a pretty darn good video.

You see, I'm not one of the composers who tries to make it sound exactly like the original song.

My goal in making these videos is to make a nice-sounding cover of a song that sounds like it was made in Mario Paint, not sounds like a mirror-image midi of the original.

Serious question: What didn't you like about the gameboys? I'd like to know what I should improve.

The long strings of them don't seem to fit, the original song didn't sound like that.

I was going to use the flowers like I did last time to emulate the brass sound that does happen in the original song, but getting the right sustain, especially for some of the long notes, would have been more difficult. Those long strings that you dislike would have been worse, as the flower doesn't string as well as the game boy.
