Well I cant idk cuz it was never taken for 3 years, but we trimmed the nais with a clipper and we put oxygen and it stopped the bleeding and she seems fine now its just still like twisted on top of the other nail and one other question...I know that if u pick up a rabbit and it kicks hard it could break or fracture something but sometimes when she walks her legs get like a spasm whe she walks could i be the really long nails that polk her when she walks.
Congratulations on getting a bunny! Most rabbit people use dog/cat clippers, but I have seen veterinarians use human toenail clippers on rabbit nails. Yes, I advise you to wash them first with hot water and soap (like an antibacterial liquid hand soap). Use an old toothbrush to scrub them, rinse really well. Don't obsess over it, just give 'em a good cleaning. Check the nails every 4 to 6 weeks until you know how fast your rabbit's nails grow. :)

hi my rabbit was given as a gift from a family who had her for 3 years and they never cut her nails. So now there like an inch, inch and a half and on of them twisted nd its bleeding we put oxygen on it and trimmed it with a regular nail clipper cuz we dont have anything also we dont have a small carrier cage so we couldnt take him to the vet. what do i do????

Your rabbit needs to see a vet because the nail is in danger of becoming infected and may need to be removed. Put an old towel in the bottom of the box that has a lid, and a handful of hay along with a water bottle. This will keep the rabbit safely contained for the vet visit. You can put some triple antibiotic ointment (like Neosporin) on the bleeding nail, but still a vet visit is needed.

I strongly urge you to take your rabbit to a veterinarian who has a lot of experience with rabbits. I know this isn't what you want me to say, but to say anything else would be extremely irresponsible. Your rabbit NEEDS to be seen by a vet ASAP! The sooner the better and the cheaper! Your rabbit can't take himself to the doctor, you have to take him.
