تخلّف عن بيعة أبي بكر قوم من المهاجرين والأنصار ، ومالوا مع علي بن أبي طالب
From Ansar and Mohajerin opposed to us for being Abu-Bakr as Khalifeh,they liked to choose Ali(as)

In Tarikh Yaghobi vol 2 page 124
لما بويع أبو بكر واستقر أمره، ندم قوم من الأنصار على بيعته ولام بعضهم بعضاً وذكروا على بن أبي طالب وهتفوا باسمه
Even some regretted of Bey-at with Abu-Bakr and blaming each other for that and wanted to do Bey-at with Ali(as),and shouting Ali(as) name!

Sunni scholars have in their commentaries recorded that following the descent of this verse the Prophet (s) declared: "I swear by the one who controls my life that this man (Ali) and his Shi'a shall secure deliverance on the day of resurrection".
