@myrnaloysboy I agree, he was most certainly patronizing from the moment he began to introduce her. She did get him back with her charm, honesty and sincerity. : )
@roomvid09 What I also love, I watched in an interview on the special addition King Kong 2005, Fay approved Naomi for the part and she knew the film would be in good hands.
" To care is a great thing ".....yes.. and there are many who did care for the beautiful and unassuming Fay Wray. There were many good reasons that she was filmed in front of the camera for 57 years ! How beautiful she was in King Kong and so many other films.Long live her memory. RIP Miss Wray.
It's strange to see her in a video that was made during my lifetime, considering my own Grandmother was born around the time King Kong came and I was born some 50 odd years later. I never knew until later that she was still around up until 2004! Very classy lady, and one of the prettiest leading ladies hollywood has had.
Its hard to believe that Fay is around eighty years old in this interview, she looks so young and her mind is so sharp! She didn’t live to see the Peter Jackson version, but she did meet him and Naomi Watts shortly before it went into production. Apparently she was supposed to do a cameo appearance in the remake but she died just before they started filming which was a shame because it would have been great to see Fay Wray in the remake of King Kong over seventy years after the original.
Thank you for posting this!, I watched this when aired, very excited knowing she was in the U.K, I called Harrods to see if she would be making an appearance, turned out she was signing in Harrods London two days later, I managed to get a signed 1st edition copy from them, its that precious to me that I have never read it, kept it mint!, The 1933 Kong will forever be my favorite all time movie ever since childhood, this was actually broadcast on 10th Sept 1990, receipt is still in the book, Lee
