@WorldOfJohnRLee - I'm on WordPress as well. I wrote an article on the causes of the depression, focussing on the "disgrace" of Mr Eliot Spitzer - you can find it here.

He's always so out of the box. I love his point of views.

@jimbo271uk But therein lies the problem, if your problem is that somehow they are fiddling money YOU have paid rather than the act itself, then you personally have a problem too. Looking at what many comments are saying, they dont care about journalists expenses because its privately funded. We are in trouble as a species if we cant abhor and condemn that kind of behaviour simply because it isnt something we've directly contributed to.

@lewisner You should check out Australia. The current crop we have in government are the worst bunch of corrupt arseholes we've ever had. Mostly made up of ex union leaders.

I disagree with him. Journalists are paid by private companies not the taxpayer so I couldn't care less whether they fiddle their expenses.
MP's are paid for by the taxpayer and are supposed to be on a par with a judge. They have no right to lecture us about "tightening our belts" while simultaneously raking in the loot for their retirement.

I'm an agree-er. I think he's absolutely right. The main thing is to keep this all in perspective. Journalists are not, should not be and cannot ever claim to be the arbiters of fairness and moral purity. They are non-elected, self regulating and driven by a desperate need to earn. The truth is an occasional but non-essential part of that drive, and is disposed of as soon as it becomes inconvenient. Just ask Lord Justice Leveson.
