Very complicated, however this version of the Wavedash is not limited to characters who can crawl. Enjoy.

  • Well, it's been a month since I last wrote here, but I found an interesting way of doing this. I don't know how you do it, EmberShade194, but I have my Tap Up off, so that if I tap up on the analog stick, I won't jump. Well, simply rotate your analog stick in either a clockwise or counter-clockwise motion to do this. I don't know if it'll be the same, but I found it resembling this.

  • Yep that's how I do it! I haven't really been updating because there was a debate in the community about the usefulness and origin of this technique. Some think this is simply a Pivot or "Craqwalk",. . . yeah. That and college exams are coming up! So, cool dude I plan to upload a few reverse pivotboosts for the interested, and you can perform that by simply rotating the control stick in the direction your facing, faster than normal. Try it with Samus and let me know what you think.

  • I've actually been practicing this turn slide for a while now. You actually don't need to crouch for it to help your distance. Using the C-Stick, it's pretty good for doing a sliding Fsmash that covers more distance the StepSmash, and you can do a sliding jab too. The problem I've had, is that the input time still takes longer than the ol' wavedash, and guys like Pit and Marth still have no problem abusing that open period. It's gonna take a lot of practice to know exactly when to use it.

  • See that's the thing, you don't "need" to crouch, but then all you'd be doing is a pivot which, like you said, leaves you open. The crouch cancels that open window, and gives you more options for attacking and movement, not to mention that speed boost. Try incorporating the crouch into you pivots. Make sure it's one motion though and not two or three seperate motions.

  • Nice demonstration and nice music. I'm going to add this to my favorites.

  • Well, thank you! If I can actual prove to folks that this belongs in Brawls metagame, I may upload a few in-depth demo's with as many characters as I can. Pit, Samus, Falco and Link all have nice Wavedashes. Everyone else's is a tad. . . bleh.

  • There is an interesting pivoting technique that Rohins, a Samus main, uses in his recent video, "Pointless Samus Tech Vid." Just click on my name and check Favorites.

As for rotating the analog stick in the same direction, I don't know. I find myself moving a bit faster when I am doing it the opposite direction from where I am facing. I have some trouble doing it when I am walking to the right. It's not that I can't do it, it's just that it feels awkward.
