Lovely video as always! Thanks for the ideas for training my own dogs (and future puppy) running contacts (like propping the board onto the pause table) - and all the practice watching for footing :) Solar's awesome!! :)

Solar looks great! I am considering doing this with my puppy(after a solid 2o2o is introduced). I do have a question though, how consistent is he with hitting the contact? And have you introduced turns to him after the DW? Either way he looks like a pro on that DW!

Why would you need a solid 2o/2o? Solar does not know what stopping at the end of a board is :-)
Even though there are some behaviors that I do not reward as I consider them "jumps", Solar hits the yellow at least 95% of the time now, probably more.
I'm working on turns in this video! But, I don't do very many turns because I figure we'll get enough of that in the ring, and certainly they are very easy if I am ahead :-)

I want to be able to use a 2o2o if I need it in competition. I dont know if I will, but it is my back-up plan lol.
Solar is doing so great with it. I just dont trust myself as a trainer to get it right lol. When he "jumps" the contact, is that an actual jump, or just the wrong running pattern?
I meant like harder turns, like from the DW in to a tunnel parallel to the DW? Those worry me :x lol, about teaching running contacts.

Oh, be brave! I figure it will give me continued incentive to stay in shape :-)
When he jumps, it is an actual jump. Not high, but a jump is a jump is a jump :-)
