Emerging Markets CEO Will Thurmond introduces the concept for The Greater Houston Partnership's Biofuels Task Force initiative at the Americas Energy City Summit.

The Greater Houston Partnership is a non-profit, policy advocacy group. The GHP is a public-private partnership between government, industry, and academia promoting economic development, jobs, trade and growth.

The GHP Energy Collaborative Task Force's mission is to sustain Houston's leadership as the energy capital of the world, and Texas' leadership as #1 in the US for Wind Power, #2 in Solar Power, and #1 in biodiesel (advanced biofuels) from 2006-2008 and beyond.

Several active subcommittees exist as part of this Task Force including the Energy Collaborative Workforce Subcommittee, a Smart Grid Task Force; and the BioFuels Task Force where Thurmond serves as Co-Chair and leader of the GHP's monthly Biofuels Commercialization Forum.

This video clip introduces GHP's Biofuels Task Force initiative in deploying large-scale commercial grade biofuels enterprises in algae, green crude, drop-in fuels, and advanced (sustainable) biofuels.
