@smoothmuscletor I do think you're quite right. It's a pity youtube hides an intelligent and polite comment that just doesn't agrees totally with the content. The singer and orchestra are often not together, he approaches most ascending intervals with a very out of style glissando, and he doesn't use any colours or shaping or nuances in his phrasing, it's quite monochrome in an intense quality of voice. His diction is good however, but french music needs more subtlety.
