29th October 2010 update: Blimey! This video was only uploaded nearly 2 years ago and it's had just over 21,500 views (21,516 to be precise), that's like what more than 10,000 views each year (10,750 to be precise)!! I have just got to say a *massive* thanks to all viewers of this video, it really is genuinely appreciated.

Whilst driving along the A16 towards Spalding, I came around the corner at Tallington to suddenly find the lights flashing and the barriers down so naturally I had to stop and thought that this would be a perfect chance to do a bit of filming so I whipped out my camera and....well.....here are the results!

The train caught on this video is a National Express East Coast 225 set, formed of a DVT, 9 x Mk4 carriages and a Class 91 electric AC locomotive, heading towards London, almost certainly terminating at London Kings Cross railway station.

Tallington level crossing is located between Peterborough and Grantham and is on the East Coast Main Line (ECML).

Filmed on my Kodak EasyShare M883 8.0 Megapixel digital camera, using optical and then digital zoom - hence the slightly iffy quality.

  • Why the hell am I watching this? Honestly, I cannot understand why there are so many train spotters.

  • @chunkyfecalbreakfast I didn't send you this video with a recommendation to watch it. One assumes you saw a link for it, clicked on it, watched it, then after watching it left a comment asking why you're watching it?!! Is one in control of ones own finger/hand/mouse/cursor or is there a puppeteer in control from above?

  • @WaerzMedia09 hahaha, I like it. Railway jobs are great, I would love to work a job like that. But the shelf stackers are just jealous of you, because you are the better one ;)

  • @loonies125 well dont work for network rail they treat you like shit ! i worked with them for 3 years they basically Crooks they screw us out of money

  • @loonies125 and you will be malling your bollocks off shoveling coal into a fire.... wooooo happy days and the highlight of your day will be getting to blow the whistle. id rather stack shelves.

  • When I was younger people made fun of me for liking trains, now they admire me for choosing a job which gives me 40k a year, whilst they stack shelves at Morrisons.

  • @loonies125 just tell them all that they are the sad ones because they care about trying to make you 'normal' just tell them that " why do you think i'm an idiot and stuff just because i don't like what you like?"

  • @Konman91316 Some of the UK crossings here actually have no barriers. but some have half barriers so not all of them have full length barriers

  • Wow UK grade crossings are a lot better than the ones in the US. They actually have a full fence on the gates. We need that.

  • @loonies125 your not the only one who gets that!, chavs ant got hobbies or things to do, they take the mic out of people who do, they think there cool, but there not
