  • The reason Jim Pankow didn't play trombone on Colour My World is because he played piano. Lee Loughnane won some sort of an award for singing while in high school. He probably sang backup in the studio though not much during live performances. And I still have my old LP, scratches, skips and all, a treasured possession.

  • Thx Chissykim..for the post...one of my favs..the Carnegie Hall Live version wuz better!!! Post that version if you can!! I miss Terry Kath!!!

  • That goes to prove that Peter Cetera is a legend.

  • I have worn out my vinyl of this classic album--nice to hear this gem again. Such a cool sound for 1969. I think they really "were" seeing fancy colours back then.

  • @arhuxtabl,

Yeah, he also sang lead on "Till The End Of Time" on the 11th album as well.

  • I would say trombonist James Pankow is a baritone. Throughout the Chicago legacy, although he wrote and co-wrote a handful of the band's songs,Pankow rarely took the lead vocal. He sang lead on one of his compositions,YOU ARE ON MY MIND from Chicago X(1976). He could have done the same with another one of his songs,COLOUR MY WORLD since his trombone was not used in the recording. Amazingly, original drummer Danny Seraphine and saxophonist/flutist Walter Parazaider never sang.

  • @arhuxtable,

No this is Pete Cetera throughout the beginning (even all 3 parts between 1:19 & 1:34).

Bobby could never really get this high in the range. Pete was basically a lead tenor whereas Bobby, Terry, and Lee were baritones. I don't know where Jimmy was.

  • excelente rola super megarola

  • awesome

  • The end is Chicago trying to punk the listener into thinking the record is skipping!!!! <3
