Yeah, i really think that the combination Spruce/Maple is awesome.But I can't really don't understand if the basses can be really dark and rounded ( maybe typical of the brazilian rep. like Villalobos ) on a guitar with the back and sides in Maple.

I agree that Mertz should be played more often. It's a big part of my rep. Beautifully played, and a very beautiful instrument as well! Spruce/Maple is a magical combination. Perhaps if the mic was a little bit further away it could bring it to further perfection. Bravo!

Great in every regard...why is there so little Mertz performed today, especially when the potpourri and opera fantasies like this one are so listenable and speak so clearly and directly?
