New tenor, Dan Keeton got a huge response from the audience when he sang this song! Other group members are Craig West (lead), Danny Riley (baritone), Tim Riley (bass), and Bryan Elliott (pianist).

  • sorry to say ernine hasse still sings it the best

  • @THEANDYV3 Ask 5 people and you'll get 5 answers on that!!

  • Diana, I've watched this thing probably 20 or 30 times and I think I like it more every time. Thanks for posting it.

  • @metanoeo1 I'm so glad you've enjoyed it! This is a song I'm pretty tired of - except from certain singers! And Dan is one of them that I really like!

  • I guess as long as Southern Gospel artist applaud it, we will continue to see how high we can screech or how low we can fry.

I know i'm becoming more and more an "old guy", but I think some songs should honored with retirement. This one has already been performed the best it's ever going to be (Mystery of His Way - The Statesmen 1963). The rest should leave it be. Sorry children.

  • @beatapt5 You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but I still think this song ministers to people now. There are many people (like me) that never heard the Statesmen perform it.

  • It really does not matter to God who sings what the best, they all are giving him the glory and that's what really matters, they ALL will be blessed, as God has promised. Keep it up! Make a joyful niose and Praise God!!

  • I LOVE GOLD CITY. I HAVE SEEN IN THEM IN PERSON AND HAVE TALKED TO THEM TWICE. THEY ARE THE BEST. NOONE CAN SING THIS SONG AS GOOD AS THEY CAN. I CANT WAIT TO GO SEE THEM AGAIN NEXT WEEKEND.

  • Good singing

  • Also don't "talk" through it - good tenors sing it and don't talk thier way through. By the way Dan is so much better than The Schreecher Ernie Haas.

I used to love Ernie's music when he was with the Cathedrals, but Ernie has never had great range or known for great tone.

  • I really like to hear Gold CIty Sing and Dan Keeton is a super tenor, ---- however--- please just sing as it was supposed to be sung. This song is known to be difficult for most singers (even professional) to sing. You have to have great range and Dan does, but to try and embellish it and improv it up like Dan does here diminishes what the song is building up to in the last of the 2nd verse.

  • Isn't it ALL about Jesus? All else is vanity.

WONDERFUL rendition of a beautiful song! NEVER get tired of hearing praises to The Lord.
