Bill Edwards, businessman, philanthropist and music mogul, is poised to be among the biggest cultural forces in Tampa Bay. His music promotion company, Big 3 Entertainment, recently took over management of Mahaffey Theater and plans bring in epic headliners in to perform in St. Petersburg. He is credited for creating the 'Best Private Club in Tampa Bay', The Club at Treasure Island, which he bought out of bankruptcy, completely revitalized and will be continuing to do so with an $18 million addition. At the Club he has hosted big-name entertainers for live performances such as KC & the Sunshine Band, Jon Secada, Emeril Lagasse and Wayne Brady. In 2010, Mr. Edwards donated $2.5 million to All Children's Hospital while special events and shows at The Club have garnered $49,000 in donations. His company, Mortgage Investors Corporation, made more than $4 billon in Veterans Administration loans last year. Edwards also owns two Treasure Island hotels, the Garden Restaurant, and most recently purchased the Baywalk shopping center in downtown St. Petersburg, FL. He plans to revamp and revitalize Baywalk, creating hundreds of new jobs for the community.
