NATURE | Saving the Mountain Gorilla | Attenborough's Life Stories | PBS

After filming zoologist Dian Fossey and the gorillas of Virunga National Park for Life on Earth, David Attenborough promised to help her in her efforts to save the mountain gorilla populations. He joined with other conservationists to create the Mountain Gorilla Fund. "Attenborough's Life Stories: Our Fragile Planet" premieres Wednesday, February 6 at 8/7 (check local listings) and is part of the 31st season of the Peabody and Emmy award-winning series produced by Thirteen in association with WNET for PBS. Gorillas are such kind creatures. Did you see how close they let Diane get to them. She was practically sitting in their lap and they didn't harm her so why should we harm them?

Who needs Gorilla meat or hide? Why are there such a demand for dead Gorillas that poachers hunt them down? I'm saddened by the fact that we are destroying the natural world, but I fear that it's the only direction we know to head in. I believe in a thousand years planet earth will turn into what Coruscant looks like in the Star Wars Universe. Devoid of any Nature.
