This is the 10-minute version -- about 5x speed -- of my holiday turning project. It's a "hollow" ornament in that I drill through the rounded stick and then turn a globe around the openings. This one is from a piece of Maple. In real time, this project takes me about an hour from start to finish. I'm just not that fast ;-)

  • Thank you. Just some brass jewelry finishings I got at a local hobby shop. Tiny eyelet on about a 1-inch post about as thin as a straight pin. I drill with tiniest bit I have, bend the post with needle-nose pliers to give it some bulk and reduce the length, and put a drop of CA glue on the folded tip before inserting into the top.

  • That's really good.

  • Beautiful Ornament. What did you use for the metal in the top?
