  • No, it's not the same thing. When you go to "make movie" in AE, you can change the type of file you are outputting to in your render queue. By default it is set for Quicktime movie, but you can change that to photoshop sequence, and it will save a .psd file for each frame. Then find the folder you exported them to, and delete every 2 out of 3 frames you have (yes, i did it manually)

  • I'm really like how you included a little bit of color, that was a nice touch, and yes the sound is nice too. Very good job :) Can you tell me what your workflow was? What kind of software you used? Hardware? Etc.

  • Thanks! My workflow was as follows-I took footage of my dog on a DV camera, Then brought it into After Effects, & rendered it out as a photoshop sequence. After that, I deleted 2/3 of the frames (to minimize the amount of roto-ing) Then I traced the outline of my dog frame by frame, & adjusted the color very slightly each frame, to create the color shift. I used a tablet with pressure sensitivity to give the line a more organic feel, and rendered the final version out using after effects

  • cool video!

Nice work, I just want some TIME to do something half as good...

  • Thank you so much for explaining your workflow to me, this is very helpful. I have after effects and when I try to rotoscope I put my video in after effects and export it as a filmstrip, is that the same as a photoshop sequence? Or are you talking about something different? Also how did you delete 2/3 of your frames? Did you do it manually or was there a way to instruct the computer to do so? Thank you! and once again great job!

  • That is awesome !!!

I love how you included the sound of her !

  • As like all good rotoscoping, it's a choice of subject matter - nice work.

  • great rotoscoping ^^
