Just go to Bios,and shift the way hard-disk connect to PC>>>from SATA to IDE(it will slow the data transfer little,but who cares,you will safe your data,pistures etc.This is especially important if you have Windows XP-home edition.I try that,it really works.Bye from shiny Macedonia!
@actionman172 Well you will have to get yourself a copy of windows. Look at your windows key and get the same version of it. Try to get your hands on a OEM windows disk. Then boot laptop from cd and follow the instructions. Don't forget that everything will be erased and please back up any important data before doing this.

Just got the same problem today on sony laptop, but no blue screen, just black screen and arrow. It tells me to use the disk but I don't have one.
