  • Hi I have some issues with my iPhone (3GS I think) anyway the very left of the screen at times won't respond to touch at all and other times it'll just decide to start working again any ideas two other problems are 1. the stand-by/off button I sometimes need to cram on to get it to work and 2. the switch to turn it to silent doesn't work at all any help you could offer on these problems would be very appreciated thanks for your time

  • @Ozzfan222 You have multiple issues here. Your touch panel sounds like it is bad. You have some buttons or button ribbons that might be damaged. The list is long and it is hard to diagnose it via messages.

  • what happens if you dont take the cables out in order

  • @mastachief2 It does not cause any harm but it is easier to just follow the numbers on the cables that apple put on there.

  • Uh, how are you supposed to get the LCD off the front glass without breaking it. It's like there's some super glue layer. I think it would just be easier to replace the front panel in tact. Impossible to do with the 3G I have lying around here.

  • @cypherstream Look at our other directions. We have specific directions on replacing the touch panel aka the digitizer.

  • Excellent instructions. Very easy to follow and identify the components. Need a follow up video that includes procedure for re-attaching ribbon cables, especially #3. Thank you for this video!

  • You can not put a Gen 1 screen in a 3GS. Also you can not but a 3G screen in a 3GS etc.
