Hi! Well, in the long wrong our insurance refused to pay for his pillow....a friend donated the $80 when they found out we were in need (I was not working at the time and money was very tight). I have kept my sons AR Pillow, it has been used for sure and worked a miracle for our son! He is 2.5 years old now and has no reflux at all, he is healthy and happy and the AR Pillow gave us many nights full of wonderful sleep!

@lawofjude How did you go about getting insurance to pay for the AR pillow. We need one for my daughter.

Poor little bubbies with reflux. Keeping their head always about their feet helps, but it's tough.

i think my son has sandifers. he does the same thing your little one does.laying down, i notice it a lot with him (at least twice a day) and he spits up like crazy. all day even hours after his last bottle. is there anything i should watch for? i brought it to his doctors attention when he was a month old (hes 5mo now) and she seemed to care less. should i see another doctor? what would you do? any advice?

Yes thank you. I thought my son was having infantile spasms but the only difference was he seemed totally focused during the "episode" His eyes were focused andhe arched his back rather than jackknifed.... This helped me feel SO much better. he as reflux also and is on zantac and an organic formula

Thank you so much for sharing this! I am a pediatric nurse practitioner graduate, preparing to take my board exam, and this helped me get a 'visual' to go along with the definition.

I forgot to mention he suffers from severe acid reflux and has since birth. We are buying him the AR Pillow, which is covered by our insurance, to keep him sleeping at a 30 degree angle. I've heard it works wonders!

My son just got diagnosed with Sandifer's Syndrome...we thought he had infantile spasms but 2 EEG's came back normal and the nuerologists saw an episode and they said "classic Sandifer's Syndrom". Thanks for sharing this of I might now have known about it! I hope Jadon is well!
How is Jadon doing these days?

Well, she had a 2nd admittance and now has an apnea monitor. Over all, we went through 7 formulas and 5 meds. But, she is now on thickened Neocate & Zegerid. She is doing great & has been for the past three weeks. Thanks for asking! How is your little peanut?

My LO is still having episodes at least 2 per day. Her reflux is not under control, either. She has an appt. with a pediatric gastroenterologist on June 10th. She takes Prevacid solutab, 15mg tablet...1/2 in the am & 1/2 in the pm. I also chose to begin using Mylanta Supreme, which is Aluminum free. I cannot wait to get her straightened out. It is my understanding that the sandifer's will subside when the reflux is properly treated. Thanks for asking also check out this site marci-kids
