The Rocket (replica) 0-2-2BT* shunts out of Loughboro' down platform on Friday the 28th May 2010. Taken with a cheap Sanyo S650 camera which picks up FAR too much ambient sound from the background discussion about cups of tea.

Reminds me of the Will Hay film, "Oh Mr. Porter" - what is it, The Rocket?"
Not sure why there's a cask of Watney's Red Barrel (TM) on the tender!

  • The barrel is to carry water so that you don't need a huge waterhose hanging off the back of the locomotive when you need to put more water into the boiler.

  • Beautiful engine she is! The original is at the London museum, and has been much rebuilt. This replica is of her first form, before the cylinders were lowered to almost horizontal. Just wonderful, I wish I could have seen her too!
