In this video I am using my Magnum 1012 SSB, AM and FM hand held dual band 10 and 12 meter portable with the LRD 1012 long duck antenna. There is also an easy radio mod for 11 meters if desired although I have not done this. Here you will see me make a contact with WM9V in Fla. I have been making contacts all over the states just standing outside in the back yard using AM, SSB, and FM modes. I can copy CW just fine but this radio will not TX in CW mode at this time. I may try to mod it later for this if I find any info on that.

  • I have the same HT and Rubber duck. I talked from Maryland to Texas on it.

  • @Emotator I don't while it is sitting on a frequency but while tuning around it seems to take a fraction of a second to stabilize and I think that is normal on them..but if you are just sitting on a channel and it does that, you might have a problem..mine is just fine then.
